Team MPS II Takes 2nd
Place at 4th Annual Lauren’s Hope Paintball Tournament
Lauren is
12 years old with MPS III (also known has Sanfilippo syndrome).
The Lauren’s Hope
Paintball Tournament was established to help raise awareness and to fund research
for MPS.
In 2006, the Lauren’s
Hope Paintball Tournament raised over $14,000 for MPS research, they’re hoping
to exceed that amount this year.
Christian’s sister
Jackie Lon and a few of her paintball teammates from Pev’s N10CD formed Team
MPS II (Kevin Cavanaugh, Michael Cavanaugh, Elijah
Gallichio,
Thomas Payne
and Adil Raad) and
competed in the 4th annual Lauren’s Hope Paintball Tournament in
Team MPS II took 2nd place beginners division. Everyone had a Great time meeting and playing
with the Pro’s! They were so generous
with their time and
really interested in
finding out more about MPS and how they can help raise awareness. We are deeply grateful for all their help.
Most especially to Bea Youngs
for her tremendous heart
and tireless work to help with this fundraiser.
You can see this is something close to her heart because of her father, who suffers from
MSA, multiple systems
atrophy. Bea knows what it is to watch
someone you love suffer from a degenerative disorder and feel helpless to stop
the progression.

We are all a part of the MPS Family fighting for all MPS kids.
The MPS II team was
exited to play against the Pros, Greg Hastings, Colt Roberts, Jason Edwards,
Billy Bernacchia and Nick Benisek
who came down to give
their support for this event. The pro team specifically requested the
opportunity to play Team MPS II.
Team MPS II was the only
team in their division, to be granted this special privilege. Jackie was blown
away when she and Bea got some “one on one” action on
the field! What an opportunity to pick up some tips!!

parents for their tireless support for this event. You guys are awesome!!!
